Algae-based biofuels have received significant attention in the past few years due to reduced
or eliminated land and input requirements compared to terrestrial biofuels. Examples include
macroalgae grown on specially-designed in-sea platforms and micro-algae grown in ponds or photobioreactors.
As with the push towards algae-based biofuels in the 1980ís, recent commercialization for biofuels has been difficult. TorchLight
specialists draw upon their research and development experience with algae to identify the best opportunities - both the short and long-term.
